About One in Christ
One in Christ is a church founded on serving as one in Christ and living in the abundant joy and peace of God’s love.
The people of One in Christ Church began worshiping together on May 15, 2005. The congregation was incorporated in June and rapid growth led us to call Pastor Joe Marek in August. On Christmas Eve, 2005, we moved to our new permanent home at 1502 Parkview, Rockford, Illinois.
One in Christ is an inter-denominational church rooted firmly in the Lutheran heritage, but free from the restraints of an institutional body. We are committed to a behavioral covenant and to showing love and respect to our fellow members. We are also deeply committed to community outreach and offer many opportunities for hands-on service to local charities and non-profits. We hope that you will find joy, love and peace in this congregation and that you will consider serving God with us.
